At least 28 people killed as illegal gold mine collapses in Angola

Dakar [Senegal], May 25: At least 28 people died when an illegally operated gold mine in Angola collapsed, police said on Saturday. The men, aged between 18 and 40, were buried in a landslide in Bengo province, north-east of the capital Luanda, according to a statement from the police in the south-western African country. The accident reportedly occurred in the village of Canacassala, around 60 kilometres outside Luanda.
