Moscow [Russia], April 16: Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed on Monday a bill amending the national legislation to ensure women's rights and the safety of children, the presidential website announced.
The bill sets new norms that tighten responsibility for any violence toward women and children, the presidential press service said. For example, the amendments include criminalisation of intentional slight harm to health and beatings, while also toughening responsibility for deliberate harm of medium severity and serious damage to health. The new bill imposes criminal responsibility for sexual molestation of minors under 16 years of age, as well as defining new principles for family law. (Sputnik)
