Brunei national football team optimistic against Thailand in AFF tournament

Bandar Seri Begawan [Brunei], December 20: Brunei's national football team is ready and optimistic for an opening match showdown against the defending champion Thailand on Tuesday in the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
According to local media reports on Monday, Hendra Azam, captain of Brunei national team, urged a positive attitude from the players, although they knew that Thailand was the defending champion.
Azam also reminded his team members that anything might happen in the game and was determined to give a good match.
Meanwhile, the Spanish head coach Mario Rivera Campesino said that the training session went smoothly and players showed the best mentality and attitude.
The AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022 is a biennial football competition organized by the AFF. First played in 1996, the tournament's 14th edition in 2022 will continue the format where 10 qualified teams will be split into two groups of five and play in a round-robin system.
