Bangladesh eyes exporting skilled labor to parts of Europe

Dhaka [Bangladesh], December 20: Bangladeshi Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmad said Monday the country looks to send its skilled labor to parts of Europe in need of foreign workers.
To this end, state-run Overseas Employment and Services Limited (BOESL) is in the process of signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with several European countries, including Croatia and Serbia, to boost the country's potential to increase overseas employment.
The minister made the announcement while addressing a ceremony here to bid farewell to 30 workers out of 102 intending to go to Romania.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ahmad said that there are huge opportunities for Bangladeshis to find employment in parts of Europe which is a potential labor market.
He said BOESL will continue its efforts to send more Bangladeshis to Romania and other European countries, and urged overseas job aspirants to uphold the image of the country.
