Apr 03, 2026

Hanoi [Vietnam], April 3: Kyo York shared that during his 12 years working in the entertainment industry in Vietnam, he had to accept living far away from his family. Describing himself as a family-loving person, the singer faced many challenges when he arrived in this new land.
"Three years ago, my father passed away, and he was my idol. Before that, he was ill, so every year when I visited him, it was like I was slowly saying goodbye to someone I admired and loved. And each time I returned, it was like meeting a different person," he confided.
Speaking further about this event , Kyo York shared that when his father passed away, his spirits plummeted. At that time, the singer was also facing some difficulties at work. When he received a call from his family, he put everything aside to return home to bid farewell to his father.
"For nine months, I struggled with grief. Every time I mentioned my father, I couldn't control my tears. Adding to that, I was here alone, without family by my side. I only had singing, friends, and colleagues around me. Looking at myself then, I felt so miserable," he recalled.
The turning point that changed Kyo York came from the thought: "If my father were here, would he be proud to see his son like this?" According to the singer, his parents wouldn't be proud to see him unable to control his emotions and recover from setbacks. "I see that as motivation to keep trying. If it weren't for music, I don't know if I would still be alive," the 80s-born singer further revealed.
