US Secretary of State Blinken set for fifth Middle East crisis trip

Feb 04, 2024

Washington [US], February 4: US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is once again expected to attend crisis talks in the Middle East.
He will visit Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, Israel and the West Bank from this Saturday until February 8, the Secretary's spokesman, Matthew Miller, announced in Washington on Friday.
Blinken's fifth trip to the Middle East since the start of the Gaza war almost four months ago follows the comprehensive US military strike on targets in Iraq and Syria. This was Washington's reaction to the deadly attack by pro-Iranian militias on American soldiers in Jordan on January 28. US President Joe Biden has already announced further military action. (DPA)
