US attacks the Houthis, Hamas rejects new Israeli proposal

Apr 19, 2025

Jerusalem [Israel], April 19: Houthi-run al-Masirah television reported yesterday (April 18) that US airstrikes on the Ras Isa fuel port in western Yemen on April 17 killed at least 38 people and wounded more than 100.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the attack on the port of Ras Isa was intended to cut off supplies and money for the Houthis . The ships "continue to supply fuel through the port of Ras Isa" despite Washington's designation of the Houthis as a foreign terrorist organization, according to CENTCOM. U.S. forces have attacked the Houthis with airstrikes almost every day since March 15 to end Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
In addition, the civil defense agency in the Gaza Strip said yesterday that 15 people had been killed by two Israeli airstrikes on the night of April 17 and early morning of April 18, according to AFP. Earlier, the civil defense agency in Gaza on April 17 reported the deaths of at least 40 residents in Israeli airstrikes.
As Israel continues its offensive on Gaza, Hamas' chief negotiator Khalil al-Hayya said on April 17 that Hamas would not accept any "partial" ceasefire in Gaza, according to AFP. Al-Hayya stressed that Hamas will seek a comprehensive agreement that includes a single prisoner exchange in exchange for an end to the conflict, Israel withdraws its troops from Gaza and begins reconstruction in the territory.
