United Nations watchdog pushes Iran to account for missing uranium stock

Vienna [Austria], November 20: The head of the UN's nuclear watchdog, Rafael Grossi, pressed Iran on Wednesday to account for the whereabouts of near-weapons-grade uranium.
He said Tehran must provide "without delay" a report on the condition of its nuclear facilities and all material stored there.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has had no access to the uranium - more than 400 kilograms enriched up to 60% purity - since Israeli and US strikes on Iran's nuclear programme in June. The material is believed to be in damaged facilities. Experts say it would be sufficient for several nuclear weapons if enriched slightly further. Tehran denies seeking nuclear arms. The IAEA Board of Governors is meeting in Vienna this week. Germany, France, Britain and the United States have drafted a resolution urging Iran to grant the agency "full and immediate" information and access. (DPA)
