Jan 07, 2024

Taipei [Taiwan], January 7: Taiwan's Defence Ministry on Saturday strongly condemned China's releasing aerial balloons to fly over Taiwan, saying the practice had endangered aviation safety.
"We call for an immediate end to this practice to ensure the aviation safety in the region," the ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
The ministry said on Saturday that two Chinese balloons were detected on Friday after they crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and one of them flew over the Taiwan island.
Since January 1, China has released balloons on five consecutive days. (DPA)
