Colombo [Sri Lanka], August 26:Sri Lankan President RanilWickremesinghe has permitted property developers to import tiles for their own use, local media reported on Thursday.
Sri Lanka banned the import of tiles last year in a bid to save foreign exchange.
Issuing a gazette, the president announced that the import of tiles and stones for "direct usage" was allowed, while the import for resale is still banned.
