Slovenian PM Golob's ruling liberals ahead in election, shows exit poll

Ljubljana [Slovenia], March 23: Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob is leading in Sunday's parliamentary election, according to an exit poll.
The poll, conducted for the country's television broadcasters by the Mediana institute, showed Golob's liberal Freedom Movement (GS) in first place with 29.9% of the vote.
Trailing in second with 27.5% was the opposition Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS), led by right-wing former prime minister Janez Jansa. The remaining votes were split among smaller parties, some of which could join coalitions with either bloc. (DPA)
