Singapore reports 2,645 new COVID-19 cases

Singapore, August 25:Singapore reported 2,645 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the total tally to 1,824,832.
Of the new cases, 320 cases were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests and 2,325 through ART (antigen rapid test) tests, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health.
Among the PCR confirmed cases, 310 were local transmissions and 10 were imported cases. Among the ART confirmed cases with mild symptoms and assessed to be of low risk, there were 2,177 local transmissions and 148 imported cases, respectively.
A total of 364 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with five cases in intensive care units.
Two deaths were reported from COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the total death toll to 1,586, the ministry said.
