Sharjah Ruler visits Al Hira Literary Council

Sharjah [UAE], May 27: H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, paid a visit to the Al Hira Literary Council, which is an affiliate of the Department of Culture in the Al Hira.
The Al Hira Literary Council briefed the Sharjah Ruler on its activities and programmes, which include organising poetry evenings and festivals, publishing poetry collections, books, and other literary publications, and preserving the poetic heritage through the revival, circulation, and study of its arts.
Poets and artists were among the guests at the Al Hira Literary Council, where the Sharjah Ruler spoke with them about poetry, its significance in Arab culture, and how it has helped to document events through artistic and poetic means that appeal to literary tastes.
The visitors accompanying the Ruler of Sharjah included Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Culture; Dr. Salah bin Butti Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Authority of Initiatives Implementation "Mubadara"; and Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi, Head of the Protocol and Hospitality Department.
