Kyiv [Ukraine], September 4: Ukraine's Interior Ministry accused Russia of attacking a hotel area, killing a 38-year-old woman and her son, while her husband and daughter were injured. A missile strike in Dnipropetrovsk province also killed one person. The Ukrainian air force said it shot down 27 of 35 Russian drones in the overnight attack, including four missiles. Russia has not responded to the report, but has long denied any allegations of targeting Ukrainian civilians.
Regarding the situation on the front line, the Ukrainska Pravda website reported on September 3 that the two sides had clashed 197 times in the previous 24 hours, with the most tense situation being in Pokrovsk (Donetsk). The Russian side also actively attacked in the areas of Kurakhove, Vremivka in Donetsk province and Kupiansk in Kharkiv province.
On the same day, Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov said that Ukraine will try to expand the area of control on Russian soil. Recently, Ukraine is said to have prepared a list of targets in Russia to propose an attack with long-range missiles provided by the US. The Russian Defense Ministry announced that it had mobilized additional air defense forces to Belgorod province, saying that Ukraine often shelled the city of Belgorod and neighboring districts in this province. In another development, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with his Mongolian counterpart Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) on September 3 in an effort to develop bilateral relations.
