Apr 29, 2025

Manila [Philippines], April 29: Volcano Bulusan in the central Philippines spewed ash plumes up to 4.5 kilometers high yesterday morning, prompting officials to warn people to stay away from the danger zone with a radius of 4 kilometers, according to Reuters.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) also raised the alert level at the Bulusan volcano.
Before Bulusan erupted, Phivolcs recorded 53 volcano-related earthquakes in a 24-hour period.
Phivolcs also called for vigilance in the 2-kilometer extended danger zone in the southeastern region of the Bulusan volcano due to the risk of rocks and other debris ejecting from the volcano, as well as falling rocks and avalanches. Civil aviation officials have been advised to warn pilots not to fly near the summit of Mount Bulusan. It is one of 24 active volcanoes in the Philippines.
