North Korea's Kim replaces country's defence minister in military reshuffle

Seoul [South Korea], August 31: North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has replaced the country's defence minister as part of a reshuffle of the military leadership, state media reported on Sunday.
Kim Song Gi, the head of the political bureau of the Korean People's Army, has been appointed to the post, KCNA reported.
Previous defence minister No Kwang Chol was dismissed at a meeting on Saturday of the Central Military Commission, chaired by Kim, and removed from the central party leadership, KCNA said. The mouthpiece of the authoritarian state did not give a reason for the change. (DPA)
