Feb 02, 2026

Ankara [Turkey], February 2: The death toll from a coach accident in the southern Turkish region of Antalya has risen to nine, authorities said on Sunday, after the driver succumbed to his injuries.
The coach driver died in hospital, Antalya Governor Hulusi Sahin told the state broadcaster TRT.
Another 26 people were injured, some of them seriously, Sahin said earlier. The bus was travelling too fast when it veered off the wet road, he said.
Images aired by TRT showed a toppled bus on the side of the road, while emergency forces are securing the scene. The bus was travelling from western Turkey to Antalya, a region popular with tourists. Antalya was recently hit by heavy rain, with further storms forecast for southern and western Turkiye.
