Not long ago, the reunion of Meritorious Artist Ngoc Hiep with Diem Huong , Mong Van, and others attracted much attention. After many years, the star of the film " The Ugly Girl" is still diligently working on artistic projects. Recently, she garnered attention for participating in the project "Who Loves Whom?" directed by Thu Trang. Meanwhile, many of her colleagues have chosen to withdraw from the spotlight and keep their private lives discreet .
When asked about her relationship with Diem Huong or Mong Van, Meritorious Artist Ngoc Hiep shared that although it's been quite a while since graduation, she and her classmates still occasionally make time to get together and reminisce about old times. "We also meet about once or twice a year. When the film 'Who Loves Whom' was released , Mong Van also came to watch, but she only appeared quietly to show her support," she said.
When asked to advise her friends to return to the profession, Ngoc Hiep frankly stated: "That's impossible to advise them to do when they've already made other choices. And by then, the passion for the profession will have faded."
According to Ngoc Hiep, her class had many actors like Ly Hung, Diem Huong, Thieu Anh Duong, Vo The Vy. but only she and Ly Hung are still pursuing the arts. "The others are no longer enthusiastic about the profession. Sometimes they say, 'What kind of roles can I play now?' I just laugh," she shared.
Responding to the opinion that Meritorious Artist Ngoc Hiep is somewhat "overshadowed" by her contemporaries, the actress said she doesn't feel resentful. According to her, since her student days, she has chosen her own path. While her colleagues were making quick-fix films and enjoying a wealthy life, she pursued a series of art films and foreign films.
"I'm forging my own path. I know that this path might only produce one or two films every year, but it helps me fulfill my passion for the profession. Like an artist who paints whenever they feel like it, I like to have challenges at all times. Let others compare me to others; I have my own perspective," she said.
According to Meritorious Artist Ngoc Hiep, because she doesn't demand much, she can still make a living from her profession, even though she's pursuing a different path. The star of the film " The Ugly Girl" shared: "One film can support me for a year or half a year. I don't demand designer handbags. I started acting in films in my first year of university. Throughout my four years at school, I would either act in films or study. Back then, I even got paid to study, so I didn't have to worry about food, clothing, and money."
