Berlin [Germany], September 15: A 24-year-old man climbed a 50-metre high church roof in the southern German city of Landshut to take a mobile phone photo, prompting a major emergency response.
Emergency services rescued the intoxicated man using a turntable ladder. The life-threatening stunt could now cost the man dearly, according to the police.
The man had climbed over scaffolding onto the main nave of St Martin's Church in Landshut on Saturday evening. From there, he climbed onto the approximately 50-metre-high roof ridge, sat down and took a photo of the view with his mobile phone. He then slid across the roof tiles onto an awning.
