Lebanon condemns Israeli attack on southern suburbs

Apr 28, 2025

Beirut [Lebanon], April 28: President of the Lebanese Republic, General Joseph Aoun, condemned the Israeli attack on Beirut's southern suburbs this evening.
"The United States and France, as guarantors of the cessation of hostilities agreement, must assume their responsibilities and compel Israel to immediately cease its attacks," said President Aoun in a statement, carried by the National News Agency.
"Israel's continued undermining of stability will exacerbate tensions and expose the region to real dangers that threaten its security and stability," cautioned Aoun.
Prime Minister Nawaf Salam also condemned Israel's continued attacks on Lebanon and its terrorising of civilians in their homes, "who are eager to return to normal life."
The Prime Minister urged the countries sponsoring the security arrangements agreement for the cessation of hostilities to take action to halt these attacks and to expedite Israel's full withdrawal from Lebanese territory.
