Latvia delivers 21 armoured vehicles to aid Ukraine's defence against Russia

Riga [Latvia], November 7: Latvia is bolstering Ukraine's defensive efforts against Russia's ongoing invasion with an additional 21 armoured transport vehicles.
The Patria 6x6 vehicles were accepted by Ukrainian Defence Minister Denys Shmyhal during a visit to the Latvian military base in Adazi, near the capital Riga, on Thursday.
Latvian Defence Minister Andris Spruds said, "The handover of Patrias demonstrates the friendship, the partnership and our willingness to contribute as much as possible." Latvia has consistently supported Ukraine and continues to do so wholeheartedly, he added.
Shmyhal expressed gratitude to Latvia, an EU and NATO member nation, for the armoured vehicles, emphasizing that despite the advent of drones and other new technologies, conventional weapon systems remain crucial. He noted that the vehicles are efficient and save soldiers' lives. (DPA)
