Laos focuses on modernizing labor, safeguarding workers

Vientiane [Laos], January 24: Laos continues its efforts to modernize and digitalize the labor and social welfare sector, while improving workers' skills and strengthening the protection of their rights and interests.
The Lao Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare held its 2025 technical conference in Lao capital Vientiane from Thursday to Friday.
In his speech, Lao Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Phoxay Sayasone said the conference aims to ensure the effective implementation of national labor and social welfare targets in line with the country's socio-economic development plan.
Speaking at the conference on Friday, Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts between ministries and local authorities to implement policies effectively and achieve tangible results in 2026.
