Israeli drones hover over several Syrian cities, airstrike reported in Hama province

Damascus [Syria], May 3: Israeli air activity intensified across Syria on Friday, with drone activities observed in multiple provinces and warplane strikes reported in the central province of Hama, according to local media and a monitor group.
According to Television Syria, intense Israeli aerial activity was heard and observed over the provinces of Daraa, Homs, and Hama, with residents reporting the sound of warplanes throughout the day.
Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based war monitor, said an Israeli airstrike targeted the outskirts of the village of Shahta, in the western countryside of Hama province, on Friday night as reconnaissance drones reportedly hovered over southern and central parts of the country.
A drone strike attributed to the Israeli military killed four people in the town of Kanaker, in rural Damascus, on Friday afternoon, Syrian newspaper Al-Watan reported.
Israel's national broadcaster (KAN) reported on Friday that the government had approved additional targets in Syria, including military installations and sites affiliated with the new Syrian authorities. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz reportedly authorized the new targets.
