Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire continues to crumble

Apr 29, 2026

Tel Aviv [Israel], April 29: Mutual attacks between Israel and the Lebanese Hezbollah militia continue despite an official ceasefire, with the Lebanese Health Ministry reporting that four people were killed and more than 50 injured in southern Lebanon during Israeli attacks on Tuesday.
Among the incidents, an Israeli drone strike targeted a motorcyclist. The Israeli military did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
It stated that in several instances, interceptor missiles were fired at a "suspicious flying object" that had been identified near Israeli troops in southern Lebanon. According to military reports, several drones loaded with explosives also detonated near Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon. There were no injuries.
On Monday, two Israeli soldiers were injured in an attack by such an explosive-laden drone in southern Lebanon, one of them seriously.
With these attacks, the pro-Iranian Hezbollah violated the ceasefire.
During the operation in southern Lebanon, the army said it destroyed more than 1,000 "terrorist infrastructure sites" that had been used by Hezbollah for attacks. These included buildings booby-trapped with explosives. Hundreds of weapons were also found there, including machine guns, hand grenades, mines, anti-tank missiles, and mortar shells, it said.
The information could not initially be independently verified.
