Israel deploys tanks in Jenin

Jerusalem [Israel], February 24: Israel is deploying tanks in the occupied West Bank, the military said on Sunday, in what was reported to be the first such deployment in over two decades.
Images circulating on social media showed three tanks near the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank - the first time since the second Intifada that Israeli tanks have been deployed to the occupied Palestinian territory, according to Israeli and Palestinian media reports. The second Intifada was a Palestinian uprising against Israeli rule lasting from 2000 to 2005 during which approximately 3,500 Palestinians and more than 1,000 Israelis were killed. (DPA)
