Iranian authorities report 32 suspects held after terrorist bombing

Tehran [Iran], January 8: The Iranian authorities have arrested a total of 32 suspects linked to the twin suicide bombings in the south-eastern provincial capital of Kerman this week, the IRNA state news agency reported on Sunday.
The report cited Mahdi Bakhshi, the public prosecutor in the province of Kerman. The Iranian intelligence services had previously reported arrests on Friday.
Bakhshi said that all the perpetrators of the Kerman terrorist attacks had now been arrested.
The Islamic State terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for the attack. The death toll has risen to 91, after some of those reported injured died. Many remain in hospital with a number in critical condition. The attack resulted in the highest fatality toll in the 45-year history of the Islamic Republic.
The report said that over recent months, 23 Islamic State suspects had been arrested and more than 60 bombs found. (DPA)
