Hungary launches anti-corruption body as former PM Orban's party cries foul

Budapest [Hungary], July 29: Hungary's parliament has voted to establish a new agency to support law enforcement in the fight against corruption. The new National Asset Recovery Authority (NVVH) was approved by lawmakers with 143 voting in favour and 47 against.
The votes against came from former prime minister Viktor Orban's Fidesz party. The right-wing populist was voted out of office in April. "Fidesz naturally voted against it because they do not want to fight corruption," new Prime Minister Peter Magyar said. (DPA)
