Fujairah Racing Team wins Dubai GP - Race 1 of UIM XCAT World Championship

Dubai [UAE], December 14: Boat No 96 for HPI Fujairah Racing Team, driven by Italian brothers Rosario and Giuseppe Schiano di Cola, was crowned winner of the Dubai GP - Race 1 of the fifth and final round of the 2024 UIM XCAT World Championship, organised by Dubai International Marine Club on Jumeirah beaches.
The Fujairah Racing Team consolidated its overall standings, obtaining 35 points to raise its score to 250 points.
This event marks the conclusion of the global racing season for 2024, hosted in Dubai from December 13 to 15, featuring 10 international powerboats competing for the top spots in two main races as well as the Speed Race title. This initiative reflects DMI's commitment to positioning Dubai as a global hub for marine sports.
The return of UIM XCAT World Championship to the club's calendar for the 2024-2025 season, after a two-year hiatus, revives the legacy of Dubai's association with world powerboat championships, cementing its status as the first regional and Middle Eastern destination to host such events since 1992.
Tomorrow, Saturday, a qualifying race for the best time will be held to determine the starting positions of the boats in the second main race, which is scheduled to be held Sunday.
