Former Brazilian president accused of participating in coup

Sao Paulo [Brazil], November 28: Brazilian federal police released a report on November 26 showing that former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro participated in planning a coup to overturn the 2022 election results, when his opponent Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva won.
The 884-page report summarizes the results of a nearly two-year investigation by Brazilian police . "Mr. Bolsonaro planned and directly participated in drafting documents and strategies to maintain power, even after losing the election," AFP quoted the report as saying.
Brazil's Attorney General Paulo Gonet will decide whether to prosecute Mr Bolsonaro and his alleged accomplices. Mr Bolsonaro is currently facing charges of attempted coup, violent abolition of the rule of law and criminal organization. Mr Bolsonaro has denied all charges.
