Egypt welcomes India-Pakistan ceasefire agreement

Cairo [Egypt], May 11: Egypt has welcomed the de-escalation and ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan following mediation efforts led by the United States.
In an official statement on Saturday, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the move as a significant step towards reducing tensions and fostering security and stability in South Asia.
Cairo expressed hope that both countries will honour the agreement in the coming period and viewed the development as an opportunity to build mutual trust and fulfil the aspirations of the Indian and Pakistani peoples for peace, prosperity, and development.
