Dutch nature reserve fire under control as new coastal blaze erupts

Amsterdam [Netherlands], August 6: The major wildfire in a nature reserve in the eastern Netherlands has been brought under control after more than two days, authorities said on Wednesday, but a new fire has been reported on the coast near The Hague.
The North Limburg safety region said the blaze in the nature reserve has not yet been completely extinguished, with isolated pockets of fire remaining, and that the fire service remains on the ground to quickly prevent any potential flare-ups.
A spokesman had said earlier on Wednesday that the fire had stopped spreading overnight, describing the situation then as "stable." Authorities said another wildfire broke out on Wednesday afternoon in the dunes along the coast near the upmarket residential area of Wassenaar, close to The Hague.
