Displaced people in Lebanon continue to return to homes

Beirut [Lebanon], April 19: Displaced residents in Lebanon were continuing to return to their homes on Saturday following the current ceasefire, despite widespread destruction and ongoing risks.
The LBC television channel reported that families are going back to affected areas, including the heavily damaged south, where the army and emergency services are working to clear rubble from roads. In southern regions, landmines and unexploded ordnance continue to pose a serious threat. According to reports, a previously displaced woman and her child were killed in a southern town while assessing damage to their home.
In Beirut, many residents are still unable to return, either because their homes have been severely damaged or due to ongoing power outages.
Engineers from the water authority have begun inspecting and repairing damaged supply facilities in the south.
Meanwhile, Lebanon's national army is working to install temporary bridges after several crossings were destroyed in Israeli strikes.
