Casualties rise in Gaza, Israel strikes Yemen

Jul 22, 2025

Gaza [Palestine], July 22: Eighty people were killed in the north, along with nine in Rafah and four in Khan Younis in the south.
According to the UN World Food Programme (WFP), a convoy of 25 WFP food aid trucks on July 20 "encountered large crowds of hungry and shot civilians" near Gaza City, shortly after crossing from the Israeli side and passing through checkpoints.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) doubted the figures and said soldiers only fired warning shots "to eliminate an immediate threat to them" as thousands gathered near Gaza City.
In another development, the IDF said on July 21 that it had conducted airstrikes on Yemen's Hodeida port and destroyed military infrastructure of the Houthi forces, in response to recent Houthi missile and drone launches targeting Israel.
