Bahamas issues alerts as hurricane Oscar intensifies

Nassau [Bahamas], October 20: Hurricane Oscar formed on Saturday off the coast of the Bahamas, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami, which described the storm as "tiny."
The Bahamas government has issued a hurricane warning for the Turks and Caicos Islands and the southeastern Bahamas. Meanwhile, Cuba's government has issued a hurricane watch for the provinces of Guantanamo, Holguin, and Las Tunas.
Oscar is located about 165 miles (265 km) east-southeast of the Bahamas and about 470 miles east of Camaguey city in Cuba, packing maximum sustained winds of 80 miles per hour, according to the NHC.
