Sydney [Australia], November 25:Six people will face court in Australia's southwestern state of New South Wales (NSW) on Friday after being charged for the cultivation of about 15 million U.S. dollars worth of cannabis plants.
In September 2022, an investigation was launched into the case involving a remote property near the NSW town of Narrabri.
Following extensive inquiries, investigators executed a search warrant on Thursday, seizing 10,928 cannabis plants and a number of cannabis seeds during the raid. The plants have an estimated potential street value of 21.8 million Australian dollars (about 15 million U.S. dollars).
Five men aged 28 to 56 and a 41-year-old woman were arrested.
NSW Police said all six were charged with knowingly taking part in cultivating large quantities of cannabis and refused bail to appear at the local court.
