At least 69 people injured in train collision in Slovakia

Bratislava [Slovakia], October 14: Around 69 people were injured in a collision between two express trains in Slovakia on Monday.
Interior Minister Matús Sutaj Estok initially told the TASR news agency that around 100 people had been injured, but rescue services gave lower figures.
There were a total of around 80 passengers on the two passenger trains.
No fatalities were immediately reported. However, rescue workers said at least two people, including one of the two train drivers, were in a critical condition.
In a press conference on Monday afternoon, Health Minister Kamill Sasko said that seven people were seriously injured, 14 were moderately injured and 48 were slightly injured.
Rescue helicopters were involved in the large-scale operation.
Several members of the government went to the scene of the accident in person, including the health, interior and transport ministers. The collision between the two passenger trains occurred near the village of Jablonov nad Turnou in south-eastern Slovakia, close to the Hungarian border.
The interior minister initially stated that "human error" was probably the cause. The state railway company ZSSK later provided more specific information.
