Art exhibition showcasing Chinese, Slovenian works opens in Ljubljana

Nov 22, 2025

Ljubljana [Slovenia], November 22: An art exhibition featuring 35 works by Chinese and Slovenian artists opened on Friday at the University of Ljubljana, highlighting growing cultural and academic ties between China and Slovenia.
The exhibition, which will run for one week, builds on collaboration between Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT) and the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (ALU) at the University of Ljubljana, following a memorandum of cooperation signed last year.
"This is the second time we have held an exhibition in Ljubljana, after a workshop here six years ago," said Lin Baogang, dean of the School of Art at XAUAT. He said the university values its partnership with the University of Ljubljana.
Alen Ozbolt, a professor at ALU, said Slovenian artists took part in a similar exhibition at XAUAT in Xi'an last month, highlighting active cultural exchange between the two countries.
The event, part of the Silk Road international art and communication talent program, follows a symposium of the same program held Thursday at the University of Ljubljana. The symposium featured lectures by Chinese and Slovenian academics as well as student presentations.
