4 injured in stabbing at Tokyo's Akihabara railway station, suspect detained

Tokyo [Japan], January 4: A stabbing incident at the Japan Railways (JR) Akihabara Station in Tokyo on Wednesday evening has left four people injured, with the suspect taken into custody, according to local media reports.
Around 11:00 p.m. local time, a witness reported a woman brandishing a knife on a stationary train at the popular JR Akihabara Station in Tokyo, as the country wrapped up its New Year holiday.
Four individuals were injured and transported to hospitals for treatment after emergency services were dispatched, national broadcaster NHK reported.
The suspect, who was allegedly carrying the knife, has been taken into custody by the police, and the Metropolitan Police Department is looking into the incident while conducting a detailed inquiry.
