Leaders of the expanded G7 highly appreciate Vietnam's position

Hanoi [Vietnam], May 21: On the afternoon of May 20, at the meeting with US President Joe Biden , the two sides agreed to maintain the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the relationship between the two countries has recently developed positively, with a focus on economic and trade cooperation. On the US side, President Biden highly appreciated the recent phone conversation with General Secretary Nguyen PhuTrong. The two sides also exchanged a number of measures to promote bilateral relations and international and regional issues of mutual concern.
In the morning of the same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and with Comoros Federation President AzaliAssoumani and European Council President Charles Michel.
At the meeting with the Prime Minister of Canada , the two Prime Ministers expressed their impression of the good progress in the Vietnam - Canada Comprehensive Partnership, in which trade cooperation is a bright spot with bilateral turnover reaching over 7 billion USD in 2022. The Prime Minister suggested that the two sides strive to bring bilateral trade turnover to 10 billion USD soon. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau affirmed the importance of relations with Vietnam, appreciating the role and increasing position of Vietnam in the international arena.
Meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the two leaders affirmed the importance of the long-standing and traditional friendship between the two countries; exchange measures to realize the vision of developing a comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Prime Minister Modi affirmed that he considers Vietnam one of the leading strategic partners in the Indo-Pacific Strategy, the "Act East" policy of India. Mr. Modi also said that economic and trade cooperation continues to be an important pillar in the bilateral relationship.
At the meeting with the President of the Union of Comoros, the two leaders agreed to further strengthen the exchange of delegations at all levels, step up the exchange of information on the economy, trade, investment, opportunities and strengths of each beside.
Notably, at the meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , the Director General of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva assessed that Vietnam is a bright star in the world economic sky. positive growth rate, in the context of strong global economic fluctuations. Georgieva forecasts that Vietnam's economy will grow twice as fast as the global economy.
Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Secretary General Mathias Cormann pledged to continue promoting exchanges, cooperation, and supporting Vietnam in economic recovery and development.
