Bandar Seri Begawan [Brunei], November 5: Hengyi Industries SdnBhd, a China-Brunei petrochemical joint venture, held a blood donation drive here to support Brunei's blood banks, the company said Friday.
Hengyi Industries is a joint venture between China's Zhejiang Hengyi Group, owning 70 percent of the shares, and Damai Holdings, a wholly-owned subsidiary under the Brunei government's Strategic Development Capital Fund, which owns 30 percent of the shares.
The blood donation campaign was held under the theme of "Give Blood, Save Life," with 54 Hengyi staff and management donating blood.
"The event marks the fourth blood donation drive organized by Hengyi since 2019 as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), in raising awareness on the importance of voluntary blood donation," Chen Liancai, Hengyi's chief executive officer told Xinhua.
"Hengyi plans to conduct more blood donation drives in the future, with hopes that it will inspire the local community to donate blood for a potentially life-saving cause and also help spread awareness on the importance and benefits of donating blood," he added.
