9 Pakistani soldiers killed, 4 injured in road accident in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir

Islamabad [Pakistan], August 22: At least nine Pakistani soldiers were killed and four others injured on Sunday in a road accident in the Bagh district of Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, the rescue service told Xinhua.
According to the reports, the incident took place near the Shuja Abad area of the district when their vehicle fell into a deep ditch resulting in casualties.
Rescue workers arrived at the site after the accident and carried out a rescue operation, officials said.
Road accidents frequently happen in Pakistan, mainly due to poorly maintained vehicles, dilapidated roads as well as negligence of road safety measures.
There has been a significant increase in road accidents in recent days in northern Pakistan due to heavy monsoon rains.
